Yoga Basics: a 4-week series

Brand new to yoga?

This class is designed to equip the beginner yogi with the proper techniques to develop a healthy and life-enhancing yoga practice.

Come prepared to move.  Dress in comfortable, stretchy clothes. You are welcome to use one of our mats. You will leave refreshed, recharged and empowered!

Movie Night: IYENGAR: the Man, Yoga, and The Student’s Journey

Prop it Up~a beyond basics props and modifications workshop

In this workshop, students will review the fundamentals of using props in yoga and explore less familiar props and creative ways of using them. Students will gain a better understanding of the whys and hows of prop use in yoga for their own practice and/or as teachers. Leave with an increased confidence in exploring a range of creative uses for props for all types of asanas.

Topics to be covered:
What are props & how do they enhance yoga?
Reasons for using props (ie: it’s not to make the pose easier!)
Prop basics: blankets, bolsters, blocks, and belts
Beyond the basics: chairs, ropes, people, and more
Props for health conditions
