Teaching Chair Yoga

August 19, via zoom, 5-8:30 pm

Join Mel Berzack to learn how to offer yoga to people with limited mobility or desire/need for chair support.
Here’s the class breakdown:
We will spend the first thirty minutes chatting – Then a one hour practice.
We will have a short break and then talk about planning a chair yoga sequence – examining the various potential demographics that would likely attend a chair yoga class.
I will assign each person a demographic type and give them some time to come up with 4 asanas that they feel would suit the type of people they are instructing. Each will instruct the group on these asanas and give us a description of the body target area they’re addressing (we will have covered most possibilities in our opening practice so they will have some idea targeting)
We will regroup for a final chat about the concept of chair yoga and review any questions
We will end with a short guided meditation

Dr. Elise Faust, Ayurvedic Specialist/Chiropractor September 19, 12:30-3:30 pm, ZOOM

Trauma occurs when incoming stress is greater than the body and mind’s ability to adapt.
Anxiety and depression can develop as a result of trauma that is not processed appropriately.

Join me in this 3 hr. workshop where
1. We will break down and simplify what happens in the brain and body as a result of stress/trauma so that you understand what is happening inside of you.

In understanding lies power.

2. We will discuss and practice tools that will directly address how to process and transform the negative effects of trauma.

3. You will leave the workshop with a better understanding of how you can notice when the symptoms of your experience of trauma arise and what you can do to transform it’s negative effects.
